: having feelings of kindness and sympathy for other people
: emotionally responsive
Isaiah 54:7-8 (MSG)
“Your Redeemer God says: ‘I left you, but only for a moment. Now, with enormous compassion, I’m bringing you back. In an outburst of anger I turned my back on you — but only for a moment. It’s with lasting love that I’m tenderly caring for you.’”
PRAY: You have been soft-hearted with me, oh Lord, and I am grateful. I pray today that you would be soft-hearted with your people in America and make us soft-hearted with our neighbors. Show us how our votes might be sympathetic to the needs of those around us. May our elected leaders have soft-hearted spirits. May they have sympathy for the people they serve, and may they be emotionally responsive to their needs.
