Sing to God…and rejoice before him.  A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling.” -Psalm 68:4-5

The Heart for the Fatherless resource closet at Arapaho Road Baptist Church serves foster and adoptive families from anywhere in and around the Dallas/Ft. Worth metroplex, offering kids clothes from size preemie to 16, shoes, toys, baby equipment, and small furniture.

Our resource closet provides clothing (all sizes: preemie – youth 14/16) and equipment (high chairs, pack ‘n plays, exersaucers, bumbo seats, strollers, double strollers, car seats, toys, etc.) for babies and children FREE OF CHARGE to foster/adoptive families.

During the past two months, we have served approximately 50 families (close to 200 children) while we have been unable to accept donations. Stock has been significantly reduced during this season, and many of our supply bins are empty or very low.

We are hosting a Drive-Thru Donation Event on Saturday, May 30th from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Please help by donating new/used items that meet the following guidelines:

  • All Items must be recently cleaned (clothing laundered, equipment/toys wiped down with disinfectant).
  • Only SPRING/SUMMER clothing can be accepted at this time.
  • All items must be resale quality without stains, tears, holes, excessive wear, missing/broken pieces, or specific names/dates/events.
  • All clothing/shoes must be sorted by gender and size, then bagged and labeled. Putting together outfits is helpful. Partial pajama sets (tops without bottoms or vice versa) cannot be accepted.

This will be a Drive-Thru event. For everyone’s safety, our volunteers will pull donations directly from your car so you will not need to exit your vehicle:

  • When you drive onto the church campus, you’ll be directed to pull through the driveway between the Worship Center and the Family Life Center and to stop beneath the covered breezeway, beside the doors of the Home Life Center.
  • Please remain in your vehicle with your windows up.
  • If you are able to pop open your trunk, please do so.
  • A volunteer will unload your donations from your vehicle and carry them inside the building for you.

If you want to serve foster/adoptive families in our area but either live too far away or don’t have items to donate, you can still help by choosing items from this AMAZON wish list to be shipped directly to the closet. Just click HERE to choose, donate and ship your items today!

Thank you for serving kids and families with us!
