Coronavirus Updates – 3.17.20

Dear Friends,

We have four main points to bring you this morning in the way of Coronavirus Updates for our church family:

* All Arapaho Road Baptist Church in person activities will remain suspended through March 31.
* Sunday morning worship will continue via Facebook Live on March 22 and 29 at 10:45 am.
* Daily 10:45 am “In Community” gatherings with Pastor David will take place on Facebook Live through March 31. Join this daily Facebook Live session at facebook.com/arapahoroad
* The best way to give during this time is through our secure website. You can sign in to our secure portal at arapahoroad.org/online-giving

On Monday, March 16, updates were shared from the National, State and Local levels of government leadership and medical personnel experts to help give guidance in the prevention of the coronavirus spread. Our Arapaho Road elders continue to be in an attitude of prayer as we seek to give leadership to the Arapaho Road church family based on this information we have received. Based on what we heard from the President’s press conference down through local government leadership in Dallas County, Arapaho Road Baptist Church will suspend all on campus and in person ministry gatherings and activities through March 31.

We will plan to gather for Sunday morning worship through Facebook Live on Sunday, March 22 and March 29 at 10:45 am in the same manner that we did last Sunday, March 15.

I plan to be online through Facebook Live each morning throughout the remainder of the month of March at 10:45 am. I want to allow our church family and your friends to be In Community in this unique venue while we are practicing social distancing in these initial days. I want to have the opportunity to pastor you, to encourage you, to pray with and for you, to share Scripture and daily thoughts from the Bible that the Lord has been impressing on me as I have been seeking Him. I want us to have a way to remain spiritually connected while we are physically apart from each other.

Feel free to email me prayer requests at david@arapahoroad.org so I can know how best to pray for your needs and the things that are burdening your life today. Our staff is working diligently to understand best options for developing additional ways to gather online for community, teaching, worship, communication, resourcing, and helping to serve as we understand our new landscape.

We are exploring options for how best to encourage Life Group gatherings online. We are testing different online platforms such as Zoom to discern how best to lead, serve and communicate with different groups in effective ways. We are circling Wednesday, April 1 as a target date to develop a new mid-week Growth Group Bible Study. There are a myriad of options we are looking at to try and lead our church family and friends forward in these unprecedented days. Thank you for being patient and helping us all work through and walk through this together.

Please continue to be faithful in your giving during this time. The only funding Arapaho Road Baptist Church receives is what the church family chooses to give and the on campus partnerships revenue streams we have agreements with at this time. The best and most secure way to give is through our website at http://www.arapahoroad.org/online-giving/ although giving through the mail also remains an option.
